The Masters Degree Programme of the EUHT CETT-UB gives its participants a valuable preparation with the following characteristics:

1. We are specialists in the tourism industry. We are well-acquainted with the tourism sector and with its present and future needs.

The sector actively participates in updating its content and objectives through the Business Advisory Council, which is comprised of organisations and leading businesses in the tourism sector. They inform and advise the EUHT of any changes in the sector and any specific preparation needs.  In addition we own and manage our own tourism businesses, such as the “Viajes Century” travel agency, the four-star hotel in Barcelona  “Hotel  Alimara” and the student residence “Agora BCN-Residencia Universitaria Internacional” by which we daily meet and learn to successfully deal with the challenges inherent in the tourism industry

2. The preparation given by our program is 100% applicable and useful. Students come out with a competitive management profile which  is highly respected in the sector.

Our masters teaching faculty is comprised of active professionals and executives in the most prestigious tourist companies. They are able to offer the best solutions to the on-going challenges of the sector, guaranteeing the most efficient course of action. Their experience complements the theoretical side the students’ preparation, affording him/her different points of view, work processes and real management models in the different specialisation areas.
In addition, our teaching staff has a team of lecturers and professors who are experts in tourism management and who update their expertise by their participation in projects of applied investigation and tourism consultation projects within our own consulting section “CETT Consultors”.

3. We facilitate student participation in applied research projects within the tourism sector. We aim to develop knowledge and offer innovations .

The EUHT CETT-UB has identified and studied those areas of investigation which will most benefit the tourism industry from a strategic point of view, thereby improving competitiveness.  Active research groups comprised of lecturers and students, with the collaboration of those businesses and public organisations which are leaders in tourism, develop these areas of investigation and offer solutions and innovations which help to raise the value of touristic products and services.

Students may carry out their Masters final Project with this applied, practical approach, with the help of tutors who are professionals in each specialty area.

4. We offer the first and only official masters degree in tourism business management.

Studying an Official Masters means participating in studies which are regulated by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Sciences, completely adapted to the new European Higher Education Area (EHEA), with the possibility of  following a preparatory programme leading to a doctorate specialising in the material and receiving the international recognition that this degree carries with it.

5. The programme allows the student to achieve a successful professional career through the acquisition of key management skills.

The EUHT CETT-UB uses a self-styled preparatory programme based on the acquisition of key competences which are valuable tools necessary for guaranteeing a successful management career.

Those participating in the masters programme will be personally guided at all times which will enable the student to improve his/her professional competences and reputation, as well as to find the strategies which will best promote him/herself professionally.

For those participants wishing to increase their knowledge and experience of how different areas and tour businesses operate, the EUHT CETT-UB offers the possibility of student-university-company collaborations with enterprises within the tourism sector.  Tutors will orient and assist the participant to find the adequate enterprise to complete his/her professional preparation.  This experience will allow the student to come in contact with the best management practices and is fundamental to completing his/her preparation.  It also foments the assimilation and development of  the skills taught during the programme.  Our professional orientation service has agreements with the most important businesses and organisations in the tourist industry, both nationally and internationally.

6. We promote the acquisition of key management competences.

The masters programmes use new methodologies that guarantee the development of participants’ skills.  For example, the Outdoor Training (open-air activities designed to prepare organisational competencies and abilities), the Business Game (company simulation games) and the development of individually designed practical cases (Turistopolis 2.0) as well as those designed by the main business schools specialising in the tourist industry throughout the world.

Also worth mentioning are the visits to institutions and companies within the sector, as well as the examples which are applied in situ where one meets and analyses the most efficient management practices.

7. We offer an  international scope of preparation.

The international character of the studies in EUHT CETT-UB can be seen in three main areas: its international student body and faculty, the activities and learning methods are applicable in the main international tourist areas, and the mobility of faculty members and participants between the different collaborating European universities.

8. We are a university which is committed to the sector.

The EUHT CETT-UB is a school which has a team of young, dynamic people who are united by a passion for teaching and for the vocation of tourism.  This  results in a space where points of view may be shared and constructive criticisms may be made of tourism development; also for the finding of solutions and transmitting to the students a critical spirit which will result in innovative ideas contributing to a better tourism sector.  In order to accomplish this, different activities are organised, such as the “MasterEvents”: single-subject workshops on specific contemporary tourism topics which are held every two months, the main objective of which is putting the masters participants in contact with executives and professionals in the tourism industry, by means of round-table discussions, conferences and interviews.

Our Masters programmes add a qualitative and differentiating value to the specialised formation in the tourism sector.
