CETT opens the new academic year 2020-2021 online with a reflection on how to face upcoming new challenges

The CETT welcomes the 2020-2021 academic year on October 28th at 1 pm in an opening conference marked by the context generated by the COVID-19. Ramon Tremosa, Catalan Minister for Enterprise and Knowledge, will give the inaugural lecture under the title 'Facing the post-COVID-19 scenarios, new challenges for the tourism sector in Catalonia', in which he will reflect on the challenges and opportunities of the industry that future tourism professionals will have to face. The event, chaired by Miquel Alsius, president of the CETT, will also feature a speech by Dr. Maria Abellanet and Meya, CEO of CETT.

This year, taking into account its particular context, the event can be followed via streaming to ensure the participation of the entire community, as attendance will be reduced to maintain security measures. Representatives of the University of Barcelona, to which CETT is affiliated, and the Department of Education, as well as representatives of the CETT community: students, faculty, and services staff, will attend the event.

CETT begins the 2020-2021 academic year as part of the 50th anniversary of its creation, a long history as an agent of change, and a key player in the sector. CETT generates synergies between the academic world and the business sector, and it does so through an innovative model, incorporating digital tools and advances and promoting strategic alliances with the main stakeholders in these areas. In short, CETT is a center that connects talent, that connects people.
