EUHT CETT-UB Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct intends to establish behavior standards that promote the safety and welfare of the CETT UB community. The Code of Conduct applies to all registered EUHT CETT-UB students.

The purpose of this regulation is to warn, correct or discipline students who show disruptive behavior. Only when a severe violation is committed, the permanent expulsion from the center will be considered

This Student Conduct Code has been approved by the Academic Managers.

GENERAL POLICIES:

a) Violations are classified in:

a. Severe Violations.

b. Moderate Violations.

c. Mild Violations.

b) The violation of this code based on intentional or negligent conducts will be subject to University disciplinary action.

c) All violations and sanctions must be noted on the student’s academic record.

CLASSIFICATION OF VIOLATIONS:

a) Disruptive or disturbing behavior that interferes with or disrupts the processes of teaching, learning, research and administration will be regarded as a severe violation. Especially the following conducts:

a. Physical or verbal aggression of a member of the CETT-UB community.

b. Intentional theft or damage of the facilities, furniture or buildings property of the CETT Group.

c. Possession, use or distribution of any illegal, illegally obtained or dangerous drug. Being under the influence of an illegal drug or alcoholic beverages.

d. Distribution of any kind of recording either on audio or video format of any didactic activity or any member of the CETT community.

e. Impersonating an instructor, student or other member of the CETT community.

f. Accumulating three moderate violations in the moment of the transgression.

b) Disruptive or disturbing behavior that interferes with or disrupts the processes of teaching, learning, research and administration will be regarded as a moderate violation. Especially the following conducts:

a. Any action that significantly disrupts the center’s routine either inside or outside the classrooms.

b. Disobedience or rebellion against academic staff or teachers.

c. Forgery, theft or destruction of academic or administrative documents.

d. The submission a forged document to any department of the center.

e. Causing severe damage to any facilities of the Group CETT.

f. Causing non pecuniary damage as well as posting defamatory comments or information against the Center or any member of the CETT community.

g. Smoking inside any of the Group CETT buildings including doorways.

f. Attempting to improve grades by giving or obtaining aid and/or altering information by illicit means in meeting any academic requirements, including examinations.

g. Misappropriation or damage to Library collections or learning material.

h. Recording either on audio or video format any didactic activity or any member of the CETT community.

i. Showing lack of respect to any member of the CETT community. Demining

j. Undermining or exaggerating someone’s contribution to an assignment or collective activity.

k. Accumulating three mild violations in the moment of the transgression.

c) Violations not regarded severe or moderate will be considered mild violations. Especially the following conducts:

a. Any act of insubordination or serious offence.

b. Eating inside the classroom, academic facilities (Resource Center, computer labs…).

c. Using mobile phones or any other electronic device inside classrooms or didactic spaces for non-educational use.

d. Any unjustified disruptive act that disturbs the normal development of the Center’s activities (making noise in the hallways, playing, running, screaming…etc.)

e. Being late to class without authorization or justification.

f. Violations not regarded severe or moderate will be considered mild violations.

In the moment of committing any mild violation, teachers may decide not to admit the student into class or to ask the student to leave.

In case of insubordination of the student, the teacher may notify the Academic Coordinator who will proceed as required.

NOTIFICATION OF STUDENT CODE VIOLATION:

The teacher or academic tutor will notify the Academic Secretary and the Academic Coordination of the violation committed in order to determine the sanction.

The Academic Secretary will notify the student of the evidence of the violation reflected on the student’s academic record.

SANCTIONS

a) Sanctions for severe violations:

Severe violations may be sanctioned with the temporary or permanent expulsion from the CETT including the loss of tuition fees.

The appropriate sanctions will be imposed by the EUHT CETT-UB Administration after the valuation of the Academic Coordinator.

The Academic Secretary will notify the student of the evidence of the violation reflected on the student’s academic record

b) Sanctions for moderate violations:

Moderate violations may be sanctioned with the suspension of certain privileges or services offered by the CETT depending on the severity of the violation: participation on mobility programs (Erasmus, Séneca, Stages…), access to scholarships granted by the Gaspar Espuña-CETT Foundation, access to CETT job listings, among others.

These violations may also result in the failing of the subject.

Moderate sanctions will be imposed by the Academic Coordinator or the EUHT CETT-UB Administration.

c) Sanctions for mild violations:

Mild violations will be sanctions with a written warning of the student’s academic record.

These sanctions may be imposed by the Administration, Academic Coordinaton, Faculty or any EUHT CETT-UB Academic Authority.

PROCEDURES:

The Academic Coordination will process the violation record and the imposition of the appropriate sanction. The Academic Secretary will notify the student of the evidence of the violation reflected on the student’s academic record

The Student will have the opportunity to respond to the allegations within 10 days. The review/ comment/ respond to the allegations may be presented in writing or the student can choose to ask for a hearing with the Academic Coordination in order to explain his/her side of the case. The Academic Coordination will the determine whether or not to impose the sanction. The decision will be communicated in writing to both the student and the Academic Secretary.

If necessary, the incident and resolution will be communicated and discussed in the meetings between the Academic Coordination and the Student Representative Body.

VALIDITY OF THE SANCTIONS:

EUHT CETT – UB Administration reserves the right to determine the validity of the sanctions.
