Reflection group
The CETT Foundation is launching its Reflection Group with the aim of creating a platform for dialogue and value-added contributions on topics relevant to the tourism sector. Through this platform, the group will explore solutions, recommendations, applicable knowledge, and strategies that resonate with both the sector and society. The group will serve as a space to amplify the concerns and proposals of tourism professionals, with the intention of expanding in the future to incorporate new perspectives.
The working dynamic will include regular reflection sessions, the organization of an annual policy dialogue, and the publication of a conclusions document with recommendations for the sector. In this regard, the group seeks to include representatives from different sectors with an interdisciplinary approach and diverse profiles to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive vision.
Objectives of the Reflection Group
The Reflection Group aims to create a platform for dialogue between academia, the private sector, and government agencies to discuss issues relevant to tourism. To this end, it has the following main objectives:
To promote debate on strategic issues for the tourism sector
Creating applicable knowledge for the sustainable development of tourism
To influence the formulation of tourism policies based on the reflections and recommendations arising from the meetings
To continue the debate through an active relationship between members throughout the year

What is the CETT Tourism Policy Dialogue?
The CETT Tourism Policy Dialogue is an initiative promoted by the CETT Foundation that brings together academic experts, institutional representatives and tourism professionals to discuss the key challenges shaping the future of tourism.
Each edition focuses on a strategic issue of particular relevance and aims to foster reflection, share knowledge and promote recommendations that can contribute to decision-making and the development of public policies.
From dialogue to action
Each edition culminates in the publication of a Policy Paper that gathers the main conclusions, insights and recommendations emerging from the event.
This document helps transfer the knowledge generated to the fields of public policy, destination management and business strategy.

2026 | The social values of tourism: a dialogue on ethics and citizen participation
The second edition of the CETT Tourism Policy Dialogue, to be held on 2 December 2026, will focus on the social values of tourism and how these can be effectively incorporated into public policies and the governance of tourism destinations. The event will begin with a reflection on tourism as a social phenomenon and on the need to look beyond traditional indicators of economic growth.
Through keynote speeches, case studies and dialogue sessions with national and international experts, the event will address key issues such as the role of ethics in tourism decision-making, the measurement of the social value generated by tourism activity, and new forms of participatory governance that involve citizens in the design of tourism policies.
The programme will showcase leading initiatives developed by destinations and organisations that are redefining tourism success through the well-being of local communities, trust among stakeholders and the creation of shared value. It will also explore practical mechanisms for translating ethical principles into action and strengthening more inclusive, transparent and participatory governance models.

2025 | Tourism and climate emergency: towards a more resilient and sustainable tourism model
The first edition of the CETT Tourism Policy Dialogue, held on 3 December 2025, focused on analysing the impact of the climate emergency on tourism and identifying strategies to advance towards a more sustainable, resilient and responsible tourism model.
The event brought together representatives from academia, public administrations and the private sector to reflect on the challenges that climate change poses for tourism destinations, particularly in the Mediterranean context. Through keynote presentations, case studies and discussion sessions, participants explored topics such as the scientific understanding of climate change, sustainable tourism governance, adaptation and mitigation initiatives implemented by destinations and businesses, and the actions needed to transform reflection into concrete commitments.
