CETT Tourism Policy Dialogue 2026

2 December 2026
9.00 a 14.00 h

The Tourism Policy Dialogue 2026 will bring together professionals, institutional representatives and academic experts at Hotel Alimara – Campus CETT to explore the social value of tourism. Through presentations and dialogue sessions, the event will examine how to incorporate ethics and citizen participation into tourism policymaking.

The social values of tourism: dialogue through ethics and citizen participation

What makes tourism valuable to society?

Beyond visitor numbers and economic impact, tourism transforms places, communities and everyday life. How can we incorporate this social value into decisions about its future? What role should ethics and citizen participation play?

The Tourism Policy Dialogue 2026 brings together voices from academia, public administrations and European destinations to share knowledge, exchange experiences and discuss how tourism can contribute to people’s wellbeing.

A day to rethink what we measure, how we make decisions and who we develop tourism for.

A space for dialogue to transform tourism policy

The Tourism Policy Dialogue is a forum for discussion and exchange that connects research with tourism management and public policy.

This edition focuses on the social values of tourism and how to put them into practice: from the indicators we use to assess destinations to the tools that allow us to incorporate ethics and citizens’ voices into decision-making.

Through presentations, discussions and international experiences, we will explore how to turn these principles into concrete action.

Who is it for?

  • Public administrations and tourism policymakers seeking to incorporate social value into their strategies.
  • Destination management professionals and organisations interested in governance, sustainability and community relations.
  • Tourism businesses and organisations seeking to strengthen their social responsibility and contribution to the places where they operate.
