Methodology and assessment
The learning model used is designed to facilitate the participant the analysis, control and improvement of Tourism Innovation Management, causing situations in which participants must cope with different situations and common problems in different types and structures of this type of tourism businesses.
The continued involvement of the students in the classes, the constant incentive development through reflective exercises and case studies, provides participants with the skills necessary for career success in this field.
The master is set in different thematic modules, developed by means of working sessions, both theoretical and practical, related to the corresponding topic. Some sessions of the module "Strategic Management Competences" shall be conducted in conjunction with students enrolled in the two specialities. Also, the participation during the Master of hotelier professionals / managers with proven experience from the top and leading companies and institutions in the country and abroad will provide participants with different and enlightening points of view, with innovative and unique practice.

Management programme of experience and outdoor training
This is a group dynamic in which all the most necessary managerial skills for the profile of managers/Directors are built by being examined by specialists and psychologists to diagnose and develop the target responsibilities of the training programme. The participating students experience in practice, the knowledge acquired, also enhancing further positive changes in their behaviour and attitude, especially by promoting initiative and teamwork.
By external visits to various central kitchens and other types of commercial restaurants as well as of group catering services. Group Paradis, Moncho's, Campo de golf del Prat, Universal Port Aventura, Mercabarna, Recinto Ferial, Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I and new industry benchmarks in the sector such as restaurants, clubs, and takeaways, are some of the visits to be undertaken during the course.
The assessment of the learning is carried out from ongoing monitoring of the student by the teaching staff and the direction of the program as well as by the elaboration of written evidence and preparation of papers, as required by the subject matter.

Using learning resources and learning microcapsules available on the virtual classroom so they can access recommended reading and assignments set by instructors and experts.
Each subject contains synchronous sessions to work on different areas in a practical and participative way.

- When the online sessions are over, students will take part in face-to-face sessions for four weeks in June to study in depth the specialization subjects. The sessions will be:
INSTRUCTOR LED SEMINARS
instructor led daily lectures with both national and international instructors.
During this 4 week stay, there will be guided visits to relevant businesses and also leisure outings that will enable students to build a sound professional network; they will also obtain a first-hand insight into good practices in the real business world.
The course will be assessed using a continuous assessment system. Students will carry out several assignments, individually or in groups and they will be assessed and monitored throughout time. Each assignment will weigh a specific percentage that will be considered towards the final score depending on difficulty and time needed to carry it out. Each subject will list its assignments score percentages and deadlines for students to organize their study time efficiently.
Here you can find what assignments will be carried out both online and face-to-face:
- Comprehension based activities. These are suggested by course instructors in their synchronous/real time sessions and aim at checking understanding of content seen during these sessions.
- Extension activities. These activities are mainly analytical and reflective activities for students to be able to share their understanding and interpretation of the subject content. These activities can be case studies, problem solving activities, creating process maps or online collaborative tasks.
- Discussions: they will take place in the course forum and they will be compulsory and assessed. They will be assessed considering the following assessment criteria: participation, sensible contributions and proactivity.
Students will be required and encouraged to participate in master classes and seminars, and they will be tested on their content by carrying out practical exercises and written tasks. Attendance to lectures is compulsory.
Students will have to make a master’s Capstone Project. To obtain the master’s certification, this Capstone Project must be officially submitted and presented. This Capstone Project must have a holistic approach that gathers all skills and competences acquired throughout the course. It will be submitted online, and it will be assessed by the master’s assessment panel.
