November 11th 2020 - Professional Day

The Professional Day is a unique forum aimed at gathering together academics and relevant players of the tourism industry. Its main aim is to transfer knowledge between academia and the industry through a smart conception of the sector whilst considering the present and future challenges and the needs of the tourism industry.

The seminar includes presentations and discussion tables where prominent actors from the tourism sector participate in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the professional sector and the academic world, as well as to contrast the degree of implementation of Smart Tourism in the sector.

ROUND TABLE: BEST PRACTICES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SMART TOURISM DIMENSIONS FROM MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVES

The round table aims to set out the implementation and development of management initiatives to meet the challenges of Smart Tourism in its main dimensions. To this end, four world-leading cities in terms of intelligent tourism management are invited to share their good practices and different success stories.

ROUND TABLE: SECURITY AND RECOVERY OF TRUST AS KEY FACTORS FOR THE REACTIVATION OF TOURISM

The round table has the intention to respond, through a smart approach, how to manage the impact of COVID-19 on tourism, hotels and gastronomy, and address what is the way forward to promote the reactivation of tourism businesses and restore confidence to consumers, as well as establish preventive measures if a health crisis occurs again.

Therefore, the round table will share key proposals and solutions for the management of companies and destinations in the context of the crisis caused by COVID19, from a multidisciplinary perspective.
