The study aims to understand the current level of gender perspective in the tourism sector at the Barcelona Provincial Council (Diputació de Barcelona), encompassing tourism companies, tourism management entities, and the Barcelona Provincial Council's Tourism Department. 

To establish the presence of the gender perspective, a review of academic and gray literature is first conducted, which allows for defining the scope of the project and creating the analysis matrix for conducting the diagnosis. 

This exploration will provide a detailed understanding of the current status of the gender perspective in the tourism sector at the Barcelona Provincial Council, as well as future lines of work.

Dr. Emma Pla Rusca

Director of the Master’s Degree in Innovation in Tourism Management

PhD in the Information and Knowledge Society Program from the Open University of Catalonia and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. 

With extensive experience in developing projects for tourism destination development, she is currently the Director of the Master’s in Tourism Management Innovation at CETT-UB, coordinates knowledge transfer projects, and her research focuses on gastronomic tourism.
