What is the methodology of the International Hotel Management Degree?
CETT has a proprietary four-stage experiential learning method which it runs in its own facilities and experimentation classrooms. It is a system which fosters leadership skills characterised by personalised service and care:
Master classes: taught by teachers specialised in the subject. Each subject will have a main lecturer who will provide the guiding thread of the content and may also feature external participants who deliver a real-world view of a specific company.
Practical sessions: in which you play an active role. This may include work sessions and projects, sessions in digital environments such as learning computer programs and other tools, training sessions at the Alimara University Hotel, etc.
Professional visits: when you visit hotel businesses or other companies associated with the sector. They may be general visits to get to know the company or can be linked to a subject or project.
Challenge-based learning: giving you the chance to take part in projects designed to meet challenges posed by real companies. These challenges enable you to develop your analytical, information extraction, resilience and problem-solving skills.
Plus you can also take part in:
- Simulations: simulation sessions enable you to practice various operational aspects in hotels.
- Seminars: which allow you to learn about the latest trends and challenges in the sector while adding to your professional contacts by networking with the speakers.
A bachelor degree that you can study in two languages
At CETT-UB you will do the last two courses of the bachelor degree in English, but the first two, you have the possibility of pursuing them in:
English: Group aimed at overseas students and Spanish national students with a high English level.
Spanish: Group aimed at overseas students and Spanish national students who want to study in Spanish.
Assessment
You can choose from two types of assessment:
- Continuous assessment: involving the assessment of the teaching-learning process through ongoing monitoring over the year of the work you do and the learning you take on board.
- Single assessment: if you can’t come to class on a regular basis on justified grounds. It does not involve compulsory attendance at face-to-face classes, means you can do fewer projects and individually, and affords greater weight to the written exam.
