CETT Students Triumph at ISE Hackathon 2026

CETT students have achieved first prize in the Innovation track, second prize in the Sustainability track, and third prize in the Cybersecurity track. 

CETT students stood out at the ISE Hackathon 2026, an international open innovation competition that brings together university students from diverse fields to tackle real-world challenges in the audiovisual and technology sectors. This initiative is part of ISE (Integrated Systems Europe), the world’s largest professional trade show dedicated to the audiovisual and integrated systems industries. 

In this context, students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Business and Innovation, together with a student from the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, secured three awards: 

  • First place in the Innovation track: “The Story of Laia,” by the team composed of Xavier Suñer, Librada Morales, Serena Wilson, and Mariona Sillauren

  • Second place in the Sustainability track: “CETTizens of Innovation,” by the team composed of Marina Lorente, Saray Ferrer, Diego Arvizu, and Judit Rico

  • Third place in the Cybersecurity track: “Optimized HVAC,” by the team composed of Milena García, Paula Toro, and André Bossart

Dr. Ainhoa Carballido, Academic Director of CETT’s Technology, Business, and Tourism programs, stated that “these recognitions highlight the importance of pedagogical innovation and the integration of real challenge-based competitions within our educational model, bringing students closer to market needs.” She also emphasized that “the results further demonstrate the value of the interdisciplinary approach of the Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Business and Innovation, with the ability to lead projects in diverse areas such as innovation, sustainability, and security.” 

ISE Hackathon 2026

The ISE Hackathon 2026, an intensive 48-hour collaborative environment where multidisciplinary teams developed creative solutions to challenges proposed by industry companies, focused on enhancing user experience through immersive technology, intelligent interaction systems, and new digital communication formats

This experience provides participants with the opportunity to put into practice skills in innovation, creativity, teamwork, and strategic thinking, as well as to connect with industry professionals. 

In addition to CETT, universities participating in this edition included Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), La Salle–URL, Tecnocampus–UPF, Universitat de Vic, Universitat de Girona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Elisava, as well as other European higher education institutions.
