November 9th 2022 - Professional Day

The Professional Day is a unique forum aimed at gathering together academics and relevant players of the tourism industry. Its main aim is to transfer knowledge between academia and the industry through a smart conception of the sector whilst considering the present and future challenges and the needs of the tourism industry.

The seminar includes presentations and discussion tables where prominent actors from the tourism sector participate in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the professional sector and the academic world, as well as to contrast the degree of implementation of Smart Tourism in the sector.

KEYNOTE: POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE AND INTELLIGENT MOBILITY IN MEDITERRANEAN DESTINATIONS

Initial contextualization on the main trends, challenges and objectives of sustainable and intelligent mobility at the Mediterranean level in which the speaker will share a set of local and regional policies to be taken into account. Afterwards, the presentation will follow an interview format, allowing both to delve into the key issues of the future of tourist mobility, as well as the participation of the audience.

ROUND TABLE: SMART MOBILITY AS A TOOL FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM MANAGEMENT

The round table aims to share the implementation and development of good practices in the dimension of accessibility and smart mobility that are being implemented in leading urban destinations. The aim is to raise awareness and discuss solutions that respond to the challenge of managing tourism and, in particular, tourist mobility under criteria of sustainability and the application of new knowledge.

ROUND TABLE: THE NEW 5G CONNECTIVITY IN THE TOURISM SECTOR

The roundtable aims to discuss the strong technological trends to which tourism is exposed, and how the introduction and adoption of 5G in communication networks plays a relevant role in the implementation of solutions for business management and of destinations. Thus, different cases of application of 5G will be presented in the areas of tourism experiences, management and promotion of the sector, as well as solutions that provide answers to energy efficiency objectives.
