Code BLUE - Cross-Disciplinary Innovative Education in Tourism and Services for a Sustainable Blue Economy

Coastal and maritime tourism is the largest employer within the EU blue economy, yet blue-economy perspectives remain weakly embedded in tourism education. 

CodeBLUE addresses this gap by transforming tourism and services education through interdisciplinary, sustainability-driven, and future-oriented learning models. 

The project brings together institutions from the Black Sea, Adriatic, Mediterranean and Atlantic basins, enabling cross-regional comparison, transferability of results, and alignment with EU-wide sustainability, digital and education policies. 

The aim is to modernise tourism education for the blue economy by enhancing interdisciplinarity, relevance, and quality, and by equipping students, educators, and practitioners with the skills needed to drive innovation, sustainability, and climate resilience in coastal and maritime tourism.
