RETHINK - Digital standardisation of hotel sustainability indicators
The main objective of the project is to design and digitize a system of sustainability indicators for the hotel sector, in order to provide objective, comparable and continuous information that facilitates decision-making and drives real improvements in environmental, socio-cultural, economic and management sustainability.
The premise that guides the project is clear: to turn sustainability into an operational and measurable tool, and not just a theoretical concept or isolated actions. To make this possible, the project starts from a process of standardization and selection of indicators based on an exhaustive review of existing theoretical frameworks, certifications and good practices.
This analysis is complemented by a participatory process with the sector (through co-creation workshops and surveys) to ensure that the resulting indicators are relevant, applicable and aligned with the hotel reality.
This process culminates in the development of a digital platform, by the project's technological partners, which will allow self-assessment, comparison between hotels with similar characteristics and obtaining aggregated information that supports policies and actions promoted by Rethink Tourism.
