The Youth4EmblematicMountains project aims to raise awareness among teachers so that they, in turn, can foster greater awareness among young people about the importance of understanding and preserving the heritage of their local environments, as well as recognizing the job opportunities available in rural areas. 

The project has focused on four emblematic mountains: Canigó, Gran Sasso, Olimp, and Pedraforca. 

First, a study was conducted on existing pedagogical materials in these territories, as well as at the European level, related to cultural and natural heritage and sustainable employment. At the same time, an analysis of teachers’ needs was carried out. Subsequently, a training-of-trainers programme was designed for teachers from the four participating territories. 

This programme aimed to introduce European-level educational experiences and to support the development of new teaching materials focused on the heritage of the emblematic mountains. 

Finally, new pedagogical activities have been developed to promote greater awareness, appreciation, and conservation of heritage among children and young people in the territories involved in the project.
