This Sant Jordi, we at CETT invite you to look upon the figures who have shaped our country with admiration, sensitivity, and gratitude.

Sant Jordi at CETT: building on knowledge

This year, the celebration of Any Gaudí and Barcelona, World Capital of Architecture, invites us to look with admiration, sensitivity, and gratitude at the figures who have built our country, Catalonia, into a model for others.

That is why today I want to share with you this poem by Joan Margarit (1938–2021), poet and architect, who speaks with a very special beauty about the craft of building: whether with materials, words, or, as we do at CETT, with knowledge.

At CETT, we deeply embrace this way of understanding the world. Educating, supporting, and helping people grow is also a form of building. And we do it, every day, with the same passion, awareness, and commitment that define great works.

BALADA DE LA POESIA

He bastit estructures d’edificis.

Estructures de ferro

que la gelada torna perilloses.

La vida ha anat quedant-se sota el fred

dels hiverns a les obres,

i jo m’he anat fent vell veient el sol

sortir a cops de martell rere les bigues.

Avui el veig sortir rere una altra estructura

que s’alça esvelta i nua, com si fos una dona

que he estimat sempre. Quan la toco,

gelada, em crema mentre continuo

el que mai no s’acaba: construir.

Happy day of Sant Jordi!

Celebrate Sant Jordi at the CETT Campus

As we do every year, CETT is joining in the celebration of this literary event:

  • On Tuesday, April 21, a panel discussion organized by the Equality Commission took place to give a voice to female talent. Participants in this event included Asun Paniagua, a CETT professor and director of the Master’s Degree in Event Management, author of "Sentir la libertad"; Sarah Román Silveyra, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and author of "Me dijiste que me querías"; and Ann-Kathrin Bley, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, coach for the Emcup 2026 team, and author of "Shatterlight".
  • CETT’s Director of Research, Dr. Jordi Arcos, and professor and researcher Dr. Laia Encinar are proposing an architectural tour for this Sant Jordi Day.
  • Aula Restaurant, the haute cuisine restaurant on the CETT Campus, is offering a special Sant Jordi menu from April 20 to 24 (€28). .
  • The Espai Fòrum restaurant-cafeteria is adding special Sant Jordi dishes to the menu on the 23rd and, throughout the week, will be selling a special Sant Jordi cookie
  • Alimara Hotel and the Àgora BCN residence hall have a permanent book exchange station, which guests are especially encouraged to use during this event. And the Summum restaurant at Alimara Hotel is offering desserts designed for the occasion.
