Sant Jordi 2026 | CETT celebrates Sant Jordi with literature, gastronomy and activities for the whole community
CETT opens its doors to the entire community with participatory initiatives that celebrate the Sant Jordi tradition— a special day to enjoy culture and creativity.
On the occasion of Sant Jordi, the CETT Campus is organising a special programme that highlights the creativity, culture and talent of its community. This year, the celebration will be especially focused on literature, featuring a talk with three authors connected to the centre.
A talk to give voice to female talent
Promoted by the Equality Committee, CETT will host a literary gathering with three women who will share their creative and personal experiences in the world of writing:
-
Asun Paniagua, CETT lecturer and Director of the Master’s Degree in Event Management, will present Sentir la libertad, a work that brings together the stories of ten pioneering women in the nautical world. Through real-life accounts, the book explores themes such as perseverance, discipline, and the fight for equality, using the sea as a life metaphor.
-
Sarah Román Silveyra, a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism student, is the author of Me dijiste que me querías, an intimate and courageous poetry collection addressing themes such as abuse, emotional manipulation, and survival, giving voice to silenced experiences through poetic sensitivity.
-
Ann-Kathrin Bley, Bachelor's Degree in Tourism student and coach of the Emcup 2026 team, will share her creative process as she completes her first book, currently in development.
The talk will take place on Tuesday, April 21, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Jardinet de la Universitat. The format will include 45 minutes of conversation followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. The event will be multilingual (Catalan, Spanish and English) and moderated by Eugeni Osácar, Academic Director of the UB-CETT Chair.
Gastronomy with a Sant Jordi flavour
The celebration will also extend to the campus’s gastronomic spaces:
-
Aula Restaurant will offer a special Sant Jordi menu on April 23 (€28), including a special cocktail, bread, and Sant Jordi cake.
-
Espai Fòrum will include Sant Jordi bread and cake in the April 23 daily menu and, from April 20 to 24, will offer a special Sant Jordi cookie for €1.5.
Activities at Hotel Alimara and Àgora BCN Residence
The spirit of Sant Jordi will also be present in other CETT-related spaces:
-
At Hotel Alimara, guests will receive a rose and a bookmark, maintaining a well-established tradition. The hotel also features a permanent book exchange point, which guests are especially encouraged to use during this celebration. At the Summum restaurant, specially designed desserts will be offered for the occasion.
-
At Àgora BCN Residence, during the week of April 13, a paper flower workshop will be organized to decorate the space, along with the creation of a book exchange point available throughout Sant Jordi week.
A celebration of culture, community and creativity
With this programme, CETT reaffirms its commitment to culture, equality, and interdisciplinary connection, offering students, faculty, and the wider community an experience that combines literature, gastronomy, and participation.
A way of celebrating Sant Jordi that goes beyond tradition and places the talent and diversity of its community at the heart of the experience.
