The Training and Business Council of the CETT Integrated Vocational Training Center holds its annual meeting

The Council aims to strengthen ties between academia and the professional sector to improve student training and employability.
The CETT Integrated Vocational Training Centre, recognized by the Public Agency for Vocational Training and Qualifications of the Government of Catalonia, has held the first annual meeting of its Training and Business Council — a space for collaboration between the center and key representatives from the hospitality, gastronomy, and tourism sectors.
This first meeting brought together 14 leading organizations and companies in the sector, along with members of the CETT’s management and teaching teams. The session enabled the sharing of concerns, trends, and needs from the professional sphere, with the aim of aligning training content with the real demands of the labor market.
The Council, which meets annually, will allow for the monitoring of sector developments, the proposal of curriculum improvements, the promotion of high-quality internships, and the encouragement of continuous and tailored training, while also analyzing training offerings and qualification needs. Furthermore, it aims to serve as a platform to identify collaboration opportunities between the business world and CETT in areas such as innovation and applied research.
With the creation of this Council, CETT reaffirms its commitment to high-quality, comprehensive vocational training that is closely connected to the industry and focused on excellence and employability.
Promoting academic excellence
The Training and Business Council of CETT was established in 2024 following the centre’s designation as an Integrated Vocational Training Centre (CFPI) by the Government of Catalonia. CETT is the first private hospitality and tourism centre to receive this distinction, which recognises excellence in vocational education institutions. The assessment takes into account the training offer, methodology, facilities, innovation, CETT’s close relationship with the sector, years of experience, and the overall quality of the institution.
The Council is made up of CETT team members and representatives from the Barcelona Provincial Council, Barcelona VET Foundation, Barcelona Activa, PIMEC, CCOO Catalonia, Foment del Treball Nacional, and UGT Catalonia. It also includes the collaboration of associated organisations such as the Catalonia Food Retail Cluster, Escapada Rural, Tech Tourism Cluster ACCIÓ, and Grupo Cadarso.
