GRATiR is the Tourist Accommodation and Restoration Research Group of the CETT Higher School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy of Barcelona.

The research activities of this group focus on responding to the challenges that companies linked to two of the pillars of tourism have to face, such as the tourist accommodation industry and the restaurant industry.

Research lines

  • Strategy, Performance and Productivity in Tourist Accommodation and Restaurants

    Companies in the tourist accommodation and restaurant sector are facing a period of profound transformation, where resource optimization and the use of new technologies have become essential requirements to remain competitive. In a constantly evolving market, where there is a need to manage a growing volume of data and challenge traditional models, it is necessary to rethink conventional approaches and develop more flexible and adaptable strategies.

    In this context, this line of research aims to generate cutting-edge academic knowledge focused on pricing strategies, operational performance evaluation, and the improvement of customer experience. This approach seeks not only to optimize internal processes within companies in the sector but also to promote data-driven decision-making, thereby supporting the continuous and sustainable evolution of the industry.

    This line of research aims to identify and analyze the benefits derived from adopting these practices, both for businesses in the sector and for society as a whole. Special attention is given to practices that contribute to building a more balanced and just future. With a modern and bold approach, research in this field promotes the transformation toward more responsible business models, addressing current challenges and embracing new sustainability perspectives.

Associate Professor at CETT-UB. His main current research areas are tourism economics, hospitality economics, and revenue management in hospitality. He earned his PhD in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University in 2016.

Associate Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Economics

Associate Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna and, since September 2024, Professor at CETT, the Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy. He holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland), and he mainly works on the economics of tourism, collaborating to several research projects at CAST – Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism, at Rimini Campus of the University of Bologna, and in GRATIR, the research group at CETT. In the free time he loves hiking.

Coordinator of the Master's in Hotel and Restaurant Management

PhD in Business Administration from the Business School at the University of Barcelona. Professor of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Degree, Coordinator of the Master's in Hotel Management at CETT-UB. Researcher and member of the Research Group on Tourist Accommodations and Restoration (GRATIR), with a research focus on Sustainability in Tourist Accommodations. With a strong commitment to education and research, she combines her academic knowledge with extensive experience in the luxury hotel industry. Her areas of expertise include Hospitality Experience Management and Social Sustainability. Her research work focuses on exploring new trends and best practices in these areas, evaluating their impact on the hospitality and services industry.

Director of the Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel Management

Master's in Tourism Business Management from CETT-UB and PhD in Tourism from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
Director and professor of the International Hotel Management Degree.
Professor of the Tourism Degree and the Hotel Management Master's at CETT-UB.
Researcher and member of the Research Group on Tourist Accommodations and Restoration (GRATIR), with a research focus on sustainability in tourist accommodations. Her areas of expertise include sales and marketing in hotels. Her research work focuses on exploring new sustainability opportunities for hotels, as well as strategies for promotion and sales.

From CETT Fundació, he is responsible for motivating and rewarding projects such as the Academic Excellence Awards for high school students, undergraduate, master's, and vocational training students at CETT. Without a doubt, it is an ideal environment for identifying projects from entrepreneurs with great future potential. For over 10 years, he has also been responsible for the CETT Fundació Entrepreneurial Projects Awards in the tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy sectors, through which we enhance their acceleration and support with the mentor team he has created and manages.

An expert lecturer in digital marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, and other related knowledge areas, he has helped train and empower more than 2,500 professionals in our sector. As a researcher, he has participated in research projects linked to organizations such as Vodafone, the Rural Tourism Observatory, among others. He is also a mentor for various sector acceleration programs.

Finally, he is also the organizer and "curator" of various events related to entrepreneurship, innovation, and digitalization, as well as being part of numerous Scientific Committees for national and international academic congresses, as well as other professional events.
