El CETT-UB cuenta con un modelo de aprendizaje experiencial, diseñado para facilitarte el análisis y comprensión de todos los aspectos de la gestión empresarial, a través de tu participación activa en las clases, retos y proyectos. Se fundamenta en cinco pilares:
- Aprendizaje Basado en retos (ABR): trabajarás sobre desafíos reales planteados por restaurantes, grupos de restauración y empresas F&B. Algunos ejemplos incluyen retos de expansión empresarial, nuevas aperturas o proyectos de catering, enfrentándote a situaciones reales del mercado.
- Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP): desarrollarás proyectos integrales de restauración, definiendo desde la estrategia empresarial inicial hasta su implementación operativa. Trabajarás aspectos clave como la propuesta de valor, la gestión y dimensionamiento de equipos, la construcción de marca, la comercialización y la viabilidad económico-financiera del proyecto
- Uso de herramientas tecnológicas especializadas en restauración: trabajarás con softwares profesionales como TspoonLab y otras soluciones de gestión operativa y financiera, integrando el control de costes, la planificación y el análisis de resultados en la toma de decisiones empresariales orientadas a la rentabilidad y sostenibilidad del negocio.
- Metodologías de aprendizaje aplicado y herramientas de gestión directiva orientadas 100% a la resolución estratégica de retos reales en restauración: trabajarás con metodologías ágiles (Agile), dinámicas avanzadas de liderazgo y marcos de innovación como Design Thinking y Lego® Serious Play. Este enfoque te permitirá gestionar proyectos con visión estratégica, liderar equipos en entornos exigentes, afrontar procesos de cambio y situaciones de crisis, y tomar decisiones fundamentadas en contextos complejos del sector.

Objectives of the Master's Degree
The overall objective of the University Master’s Degree in Restaurant Management is to provide advanced training in executive management applied to the restaurant and food service sector, enabling students to:

Master's degree final project
The Master's Final Project (12 ECTS) is the culmination of the Master's course, where the skills you have acquired are reflected, as well as their application and development. This is a work of business and/or academic application. Depending on your interests and professional motivations, you will study in depth some aspect of your chosen specialization.
To obtain the Master’s degree, it is essential to pass this integrative course. The Master’s Final Project (TFM) is a key instrument for training students in the analysis of tourism-related issues and phenomena through research methods, based on the identification and use of different variables. It also serves as a tool for evaluating the programme’s competencies from a comprehensive perspective.
You will carry out your final project under the guidance of an expert tutor from the sector, who will provide strategic insight, professional viability, and personalised support throughout the entire process. You may choose from three formats:
- Consultancy project: professional analysis and solution proposals for real companies in the sector.
- Business plan: full development of a new business concept.
- Applied research: academic study with an impact on the industry.
Each project is unique and requires an approach and level of attention tailored to its objectives and subject matter, with the tutor’s guidance shaping your direction as a student.

Double specialization: the Master's degree will allow you, if you wish, to take a second specialization within the official program. The double specialization will broaden your skills and help you to face a very dynamic and competitive job market in an even stronger way. In this case, you will be able to specialize in Hotel Management at the University of Barcelona and Restaurant Management at the University of Barcelona.
You can only do one specialization per year, always respecting the teaching periods.

CETT International Support
Because we understand the challenge of living outside your comfort zone, the CETT-UB Campus offers you the International Relations Office (IRO), as an area aimed at orientation, counseling and attention to international students of the master's programs.
The team in this area will provide you with relevant information related to logistical aspects of living in Barcelona such as registration, processing your foreigner's identity number (NIE) or finding accommodation in the city.
Procedures related to your academic stay
The IRO team will provide you with updated information on the procedures to be carried out once you are in the city, guiding you on essential documents such as the foreigner's identity number (NIE), the municipal census or official registry or the university card.
Languages
If your native language is not Spanish, the IRO team will give you advice on how and where to learn it. They will also tell you where to learn Catalan, which will make it easier for you to integrate into the daily life of the city. You can also strengthen Spanish through the certified courses offered by our CETT-UB Language Department. On the other hand, if you want to practice any other language in an informal way, you can participate for free in our language exchange program between CETT-UB students.

Internships and work
During the Master's in Hospitality Management you will have the opportunity to do internships in top level companies and institutions with the objective of acquiring new skills and applying the knowledge learned in the Master.
The Career Services department will guide you on the types of internships you can apply for.
The internships have 2 modalities
Curriculum: Linked to subjects of the program you are taking and that are part of your academic curriculum and, therefore, mandatory.
Extracurricular: Not included in the curriculum and are of a voluntary nature.
The internships are carried out through university-company cooperation agreements and are supervised by expert professors in each of the subjects

Access routes
You can access the master's degree from any degree related to the branches of knowledge of the social sciences and humanities, especially those derived from previous diplomas and bachelor's degrees in the adaptation to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Candidates who do not have the qualifications mentioned above will have to complete the training supplements.
Who is exempt from taking bridging courses?
Students with a bachelor's degree in areas related to business management, tourism, hospitality, or restaurant management do not need to take any bridging courses:
- Bachelor's Degree in Tourism
- Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant Business Management
- Other degrees related to business management, hospitality, tourism, or food service
Who must take bridging courses?
Students with a background in business administration and management must take one of the following courses, depending on the chosen master's specialization:
- Hospitality Business Management (6 ECTS) or
- Culinary Organization and Operations Management (6 ECTS)
Students from other unrelated academic disciplines must take:
- Financial and Economic Management of Tourism Companies (6 ECTS) and
- Hospitality Business Management (6 ECTS) or Culinary Organization and Operations Management (6 ECTS), depending on the chosen specialization.
