With the Official Master's Degree in Tourism Business Management from CETT-UB, you will develop the necessary skills to lead tourism companies and projects in their adaptation to change, resulting from digitalization, sustainability, and innovation. You will learn the hard and soft skills to adapt to these changes and create memorable experiences.

At CETT-UB, we understand the challenges facing the tourism sector. Despite being an industry that contributes 10.3% of gross domestic product (GDP) globally, the rapid evolution of the tourism market, coupled with a highly competitive environment, the concern for sustainability, and the emergence of new business models, require a change in all its actors.

In this context, the strategic management of tourism companies needs new professionals. Executives capable of playing a disruptive, creative, and analytical leadership role.

In this master's degree, you will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to:

  • Develop strategies, tactics, and actions to compete internationally.
  • Adapt the tourism ecosystem to the new intermediation structure driven by information and communication technologies (ICT).
  • Contribute to new shared business culture, oriented to the consumer, from a practical, competitive, co-creative leadership with the capacity to adapt to change.
  • To understand the new customer typologies as well as their channels and tools.
  • Improve the balance between tourism activity and the environment following the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

Methodolgy and Assesment

The Master's Degree has its own learning system in which you will be the center of the learning process. You will learn thanks to your active participation in the classroom through learning by doing and interaction among students, or own methodologies such as CBL and PBL.

The master's degree has three specialization routes that will allow you to delve into different areas according to your interests and motivations. Thanks to these specialties you will achieve a much more competitive professional profile and the necessary knowledge to face the different challenges faced by companies and tourist destinations to create and launch products.

With the Official Master's Degree in Tourism Management, you will acquire a solid base of up-to-date knowledge. You will understand the tourism industry's diversity and needs, providing you with vital decision-making elements in tourism companies in dynamic contexts.

  • The majority of students find work or get promoted when they finish their studies.
  • You will acquire a global vision of the tourism industry: thanks to the collaboration of different teaching profiles active in the sector and visits to companies and training activities to contact the professional field's reality.
  • You will learn the necessary skills to accompany high-performance teams to achieve their objectives and respond to business challenges.
  • You will actively participate in transversal events such as the Smart Tourism Congress Barcelona, the CETT Tourism Observatory, or CETT Talent, among many other internal or external activities to which our students have privileged access.
  • CETT-UB has more than 900 collaboration agreements to develop extracurricular or curricular internships. A program tailored to your needs. Choose the language (English or Spanish), the mode of attendance (face-to-face or blended learning), and the specialty: Responsible and Sustainable Tourism, Digital Tourism Marketing, or Event Management.
  • It is an Official Master's Degree from the University of Barcelona and the CETT in Tourism Business Management. As an official master's degree, it will allow you to pursue a doctorate and has academic recognition inside and outside Spain.

The Official Master's Degree in Tourism Business Management curriculum has one academic year equivalent to one calendar year.
